I can tell you that 2020 has been absolutely chaotic for weddings. With Covid forcing SO many couples to reschedule, re plan, finalize, then re plan again, my heart breaks for this hard time. Even though this year has been totally heartbreaking, its SO great to see couples still finding a way to make their love story still happen!
Nicole & Chris met in high school and ended up being high school sweet hearts. After high school they reconnected and the rest is history. They love to travel and go on road trips. Any city with good food and breweries is a bonus! They can be found hiking and outdoors together.
Nicole and Chris were supposed to get married at the Grove on August 8th 2020. With so many state mandates and restrictions in place, they postponed to 2021. Even though they have moved their large wedding to 2021, they wanted to still say I DO on their original date - August 8th 2020. Two days after they made the call to postpone the big wedding to 2021, they found the perfect house during their house hunt- and noticed the adorable backyard. They realized they could have their small ceremony in the backyard and have getting married memories as one of their first memories in their new house together.
So they chose to have a super intimate and private ceremony held in their beautiful backyard at their newly bought house (Congrats on that exciting move!)
They were blessed with a beautiful day. The weather was beautiful, the sun was out. They got dressed with their parents / siblings by their side. Since they only had my coverage for a few hours since they were not having a huge wedding, we decided to have a STUNNING first look / portrait session at the beautiful Allaire State Park which was right down the road from their Point Pleasant house!
It was a really special moment to share the first look followed by portraits. After exploring around Allaire State Park for an hour, we ventured back over to their house were they exchanged theirs vows with their immediate family. They had a video streaming for everyone at who stayed at their homes to join in with them for their ceremony. It was a beautiful and wonderful ceremony.
Even though this was not the original wedding of what Nicole and Chris had originally planned for their vows- I know they are over the moon with how everything came together. Love is not cancelled! I cannot wait to capture their wedding celebration next year at the Grove!
