I can tell you that 2020 has been absolutely chaotic for weddings. With Covid forcing SO many couples to reschedule, re plan, finalize, then re plan again, my heart breaks for this hard time. Even though this year has been totally heartbreaking, its SO great to see couples still finding a way to make their love story still happen!

The meeting: They met in 5th grade but didn’t become close friends until high school. It wasn’t until they both had gone to different colleges that they decided to start dating. They dated long distance for the two years in college before moving back to their hometown and being together ever since.

The proposal: Colton surprised Erin with a “date” to an observatory, which was romantic because their first date was stargazing. They looked through a bunch of telescopes and made their way to the main telescope. After gazing at the stars, Erin turned around to find Colton on one knee. She said yes and was crying tears of joy.

About the couple: Erin and Colton love craft beer and centered their first trip to Europe around craft beers in Belgium and Ireland. They have an adorable cat named Aspen. Both of their sisters went to the same high school and joked that one day Erin & Colton would get married- which came true!

Erin & Colton were supposed to get married at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge this past September. With so many state mandates and restrictions in place, they postponed to 2021. Even though they have moved their large wedding to 2021, they wanted to still say I DO on their original date - September 25th 2020. A family friend of theirs owns a beautiful farm property and allowed them to have a super intimate wedding on the property. They were so blessed to have the space to get married on their original date they had in mind.

They chose to have a super intimate and private ceremony held in their beautiful farm at their friends in Hillsborough, New Jersey and have their big party next year in 2021!

They were blessed with a beautiful day. The weather was beautiful, the sun was out. They got dressed with their parents / siblings by their side. Since they only had coverage for a few hours since they were not having a huge wedding, we decided to have a STUNNING first look / portrait session along the creek/forest of the farm which was beautiful.

Even though this was not the original wedding of what Erin & Colton had originally planned for their vows- I know they are over the moon with how everything came together. Love is not cancelled! I cannot wait to capture their wedding celebration next year at Stone House!
